Today on this date...

in 1843, Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL was published! We feel honored to be marking this day with prepping and planning for the 7th annual live radio broadcast of this story tomorrow night at 7pm EST from the studios of WVUD, 91.3fm Newark.

There are 3 ways you can participate:

1) Listen live at 91.3fm, Newark, or online at www.wvud.org

2) Call the station at 7pm to send in your holiday shout out that we'll then read over the air waves at intermission: 302-831-2701

3) Tell your friends, and listen to one of the several rebroadcasts airing again on WVUD and wvud.org the week leading up to Christmas, with a special Christmas Morning 1am EST broadcast for all you elves out there getting the last minute presents under the tree!

We can't wait to see you on the radio!

The 7th Annual Live Radio Broadcast Announced

Well, another holiday season is upon us, and the holiday for us just wouldn't be complete without our annual live radio broadcast of A CHRISTMAS CAROL.  Taken directly from the original Dickens' text, and arranged as a radio play, we'll be presenting the 7th Annual Live Radio Broadcast from the studios of WVUD, 91.3fm in Newark, Delaware. Returning to our roots, this broadcast will feature a small cast of about 6 professional actors covering all the characters in Dickens' inspirational ghost story while squeezed together in the basement studios of WVUD. Our tradition of holiday shout-outs will also continue: call the radio station the night of the broadcast to have a holiday greeting read over the airwaves to family and friends tuned-in worldwide (302) 831-2701. Won't you join us??

Snowed-in with Dickens

With inches of snow steadily accumulating on the front steps, we here are taking this snow-day opportunity to 1) figure out a way to post a podcast of our 6th annual broadcast to this blog, and 2) listen to the Campbell's Playhouse with Lionel Barrymore and Orson Welles and their 5th annual reading of A Christmas Carol.

Our thanks to everyone who attended the recorded broadcast on December 7th.

Check out www.wvud.org for dates and rebroadcast times on WVU, 91.3fm.

Check back here to see if we succeeded in posting the podcast her!

A Little History Part I

In the fall of 2004, two friends, both alike in dignity, had an idea.

What if we adapted Charles Dickens'  A Christmas Carol and broadcast it live on the radio-- like A Prairie Home Companion or War of the Worlds?

Still friends, and now husband and wife, Michael Boudewyns and Sara Valentine are once again pleased to be assembling a group of talented actors, musicians, and radio engineers to present the 6th annual  broadcast.

This radio play adaptation is taken directly from Charles Dickens' original, unabridged text, and is supplemented with live holiday carols and sound effects.
